Choquequirao is considered the cradle of gold of the incas this inca trail is full of exotic, exciting and little-explored places, an archaeological complex located in the heart of cusco – peru, often described as the “sister of machu picchu”. although it is not as well known, several reasons make it even more spectacular, such as being nestled in the impressive apurimac canyon and being much larger than its counterpart, if you like adventure, choquequirao is the perfect place. the site has terraces, enclosures, lush scenery, and offers the possibility of camping in the middle of nature, choquequirao is located in the alto salkantay sector, in the territory of the yanama community of the santa teresa district, la convención province in cusco. this historic place turned out to be of great strategic importance to the incas, as it served as a key point to connect the cities of pisac and machu picchu with the vast peruvian amazon.
Choquequirao & Machupicchu 4D3N
This day we pick you up from the hotel between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. to begin our trip on a private bus for 4 hours northeast of the city of Cusco to Capuliyoc (2,800 masl) where we will have a delicious breakfast. and where we will also meet our muleteers, after breakfast, we begin the descent where we will have a panoramic view of the Vilcabamba mountain range, the famous Apurimac Canyon, different medicinal plants that were used by our ancestors until we reach Chiquisca (1800 masl) where we have a delicious buffet lunch typical of Cusco, after lunch, we will have a 30 minute break to continue or walk, descending 45 more minutes to Playa Rosalinas (1700 masl), located on the Apurímac River, separated by two important Peruvian regions, CUSCO and APURIMAC, we continue from Asenso for 4 hours to Marampata (3500 masl) on the way we will see bird dance, until we reach our private Lodge "Choquequirao Sanctuary Lodge" at approximately 5:30 p.m., after a short break we will have dinner at approximately 7 p.m. and during the night in our LOGDE, you can see constellations according to the Andean or Inca religion.

This calmer day we get up Approximately at 7:30 am we will have a delicious typical breakfast. Then we will continue with our Marampata hike, until the central part of the Choquequirao Archaeological Complex (3900 masl) our guide will explain to you about the flora and fauna, we will have 3 hours to explore the entire Choquequirao, We will begin our descent to the Choquequirao campsite, where our picnic awaits us, after lunch we will take a 30 minute break and continue to an amazing place that only we know about, this place is called Pachayoc waterfalls (Pachayoc waterfalls). A place where you will be in contact with nature. Finally we will return to the Choquequirao campsite where dinner is ready and it is time to stop.

Hiking time: approximately 3½ to 4 hours.
Climate: hot during the day and warm at night.

This day we will hike downhill for two hours to the magnificent Apurimac River (1,450 m/4,787 ft). We will then cross the bridge to hike uphill for one hour to San Ignacio for lunch, where we can enjoy the beautiful scenery and a large waterfall. After lunch we will walk a moderate uphill hike through a beautiful valley to Villa de Loros (2,600 m/8,580 ft) where we will camp for the last night.
Hiking distance: 16 Km. / 9.9 mile
Hiking time: 5 to 6 hour approximately.
Climate: we start with a cold weather and we end up in a tropical climate.
Acomodation: Camping: Choquequirao.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
Maximum Altitude: 3040 masl / 9289 ft. (Choquequirao)
On this calmer and more relaxed day we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, take our private transportation to the Saywite archaeological site, where we can explore and see an Inca monolith, several water fountains and ritual platforms. After spending time enjoying the site, we head to the Conoc hot springs to relax after several days of hiking. After lunch we return to the city of Cusco.
